The Area

Abbey Farm is a fantastic base for those who want to explore the Chilterns, Cotswolds, Oxford and the surrounding areas.

The local traditional market town of Thame is nestled at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, it boasts historical buildings, beautiful parks, a vibrant High Street with many restaurants and pubs.

The city of Oxford is approximately 12 miles away accessible by bus or car offers a skyline of dreaming spires, domed theatres and college gargoyles. Have a peek past the porters outside university colleges onto quadrant lawns. Take a picnic to attractions such as meadows, exotic botanical gardens and a punt on the river.

Take in the top attractions such as Bodleian Library, Castle, The University Museum of Natural History and Christchurch College on a guided tour. Or simply peruse the shops and enjoy the rooftop bars and restaurants in the centrally located Westgate Shopping Centre.

The Chilterns offer miles of beautiful woodland and walks to include Watlington Hill, Shirburn Hill, Christmas Common, Coombe Hill, Wendover Woods.

In the opposite direction slightly further afield (30miles) for day trips are the Cotswolds with Blenheim Palace, Burford, Batsford Arboretum, Broadway Tower and Snow Hill Lavender Farm.
